What Does CT Scan Report Result Suggest?

Hi my name is Janet,
I had a CT lumbar spine
it says that there is a severe to near critical degree of spinal canal stenosis due to the effects of the forward slip a well as disc impression and ligamentum flavum hypertropy. What needs to be done to fix it. I do not have back pain but leg and mostly foot pain. Please..

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

There is degeneration of lumbar spine disc and this is resulting in the disc herniating between the bones. The nerve roots pass through these neural foramina and you might have severe nerve root compression at that level. These are better seen in MRI scan. The nerve pain may be controlled with restricted physical activity and pain relief medication. Please do not do heavy physical activity till you are comfortable. If there is severe pain then you must consult a neurosurgeon for treatment options.
