What Does 47, XX, +16 On Karyotype Report Indicate?

Hi,my name is bijal.m 29yo.I had my first missed abortion 5 weeks ago.I got my karyotype report stating 47,XX,+16. What does it mean? Also it stated small placenta cause for it. I don t hv thyroid nor sugar nor blood pressure.is trisomy 16 harmful.will I get pregnant again with normal child? What precautions I must take for planning my next pregnancy? Please help n reply to my questions asap.thanking you

I have gone through your query & understand your concern.
47 XX +16 means that trisomy 16, i.e. there is an extra copy of chromosome 16. Normally, all human beings have 23 pairs of chromosomes, making a total of 46. Trisomy 16 is unfortunately associated with recurrent 1st trimester spontaneous abortions. I advice you to find a good gynaecologist for genetic counselling.
