What Does 41.36 Ng/ml Of Serum Prolactin Mean?
what does it mean to have 41.36 ng/ml of serum prolactin. Also i have been getting periods regularly. i have read that this relates to pregnancy but if i get periods then how can i be pregnant. i have had an abortion 8 months back.

Following is the normal prolactin levels in females
Nonpregnant females: 2 - 29 ng/mL
Pregnant women: 10 - 209 ng/mL
As you are not pregnant you may have a mild elevation in prolactin levels due to conditions like hypothyroidism, hypothalamic and pituitary conditions and due to intake of certain medications. This needs to be discussed in the light of your clinical problems and a careful diagnosis is to be made.
