What Does 0-1 RBC/HPF And Pus Cells 40-60 WBC/HPF, Positive Leukocyte Esterase Indicate?

My daughter has 0-1 RBC/HPF and Pus cells 40-60 WBC/HPF, she has positive leucicyte Esterase. She had a CRP test with value 168.30 mg/L. However her Urine culture shows normal. She was having 101-104 F fever for 3 days.. What drugs shall be given to her? Also is it possible that the urine culture is normal but she still has a urine infection? Plz help

Thanks for writing to HCM

Your daughter is suffering from urinary tract infection(UTI).
UTI is indicated by the presence of pus cells, RBC in urine and positive leukocyte esterase test.
She need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Renal function test,Urine culture and sensitivity and Ultrasound of abdomen. Further investigations can be done if needed.

Urine culture may be negative due to many reasons.You should go for repeat culture and sensitivity.
At present she need proper antibiotics after culture and sensitivity report.
She should also take paracetamol for fever.
