What Do You Suggest For Mitral Valve Prolapse?

i was recently diagnosed with a-fib which ended reversing itself during my e.r.stay-spent the night at the hospital under observation and was discharged early the next day.Iam 65 yrs old.I have lived a healthy life style most if not all of my life,no drinking, smoking or drugs,i have excercised in a very disciplined and consistent way most of my life. When it comes to nutrition i always seek the healthiest foods possible. However i am what what would be considered a high strung individual with anxiety, worry, fear as an involuntary personality trait.I have suferred from panic attacks in the distant past.I have a mitral valve prolapse since i was much younger(my 30 s) with pvc,s.After this hospital visit i was prescribed atenelol 25.mg.,which replaced metropolol also of 25mg.in order to slow down my h/r thus preventing the a-fib which had my h/r at aprox.155 beats per mn.at admission. Also i was prescribed a blood thinner(xarelto) which i am worried about in taking as well as not taking since i have a diet and supplementation of fish-oil 1000mg,vite-e 400mg. and garlic 1500mg along with other foods that are well known to thin the blood.I take this mainly because they help me with my multiple allergies(ingestants and inhalants)which chronically afflict me.this regimen helps me reduce inflamation in a very positive way.I also drink 8 to 10 full glases of water per day.I have always tried to rely as least as possible on meds.unless there is no choice to take them.On my ekg,s i was told that the upper chambers of heart (atria) are larger than normal, thus this being the reason to take the blood thinner in order to prevent the risk of a stroke,I know that conventional medical advise almost always chooses a prescription over natural methods and i do understand why.I in particular worry that one medication will lead to another and so on,with its multitude of side effects and complications.I hope that i havent taken to much of your time with this drawn out que stion.Thanking you in advance for your reply.

Dear Friend.
Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
Since you are 65 years old , with Atrial Fibrillation, you require Chronic Anticoagulation with warfarin.
Also, rate and rhythm control of Atrial Fibrillation is required with Metoprolol / Diltiazem / Amiodarone , predominently used for this purpose.
But before reverting the rhythm , we should be sure that , there is no clot , so a transthoracic ECHO is suggested.
Please share with us report of your ECHO , to comment on Mitral valve prolapse.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any query you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
