hi
tryptase is a chemical(enzyme) produced in body by various cells.serum value are normally less than 11.5 ng/ml.they are raised in anaphylactic reaction to various allergen except allergen of food origin.
so before i tell you the possible causes you should have faith in your doctor since he is treating from the very beginning, having said that the cause could be-allergic reaction(anaphylaxsis)various myelodysplastic syndrome, end stage renal failure,AML to name the few.
take care and wish you good health
