What do white blisters on the tonsils indicate?

I was tested positive for strep yesterday. I get it once or twice a year and have since I was little. I started antibiotics yesterday with no white puss spots, but now today the pain has gotten worse and my tonsils are covered in white blisters and filled with white. Can you tell me how long until antibiotics work, and why it seems to have gotten way worse even after 24 hours of them? I m hoping the pain doesn t last much longer. Thank you!

Hello,my name is Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi.
I understand your concern.
White spots on tonsils are a symptom of bacterial infection.
Some advice are:
-Continue with antibiotics for 7 to 14 days
-Take anti-inflammatory tablets in case of fever
-Use a local spray for disinfection
Hope it helps.
Kind regards!
