What Do Uterine Leiomyoma And Nabothian Cyst In Ultrasound Report Specify?
Hello, I had an ultra sound last Friday. I ve not heard from the Dr yet but received the tests results via email. First, I had the ultra sound due to serious stomach pain that landed me in the ER a few weeks ago. The results had these 3 words; uterine leiomyoma, anechoic lesion and nabothian cyst. I am 59 and have had no menstral cycle in many many years. I m hoping to hear from my Dr within the next couple of days but until then, can you offer any advice or suggestions. I m still having lower stomach discomfort too but not to the point I need to visit the ER. Think you so so much for your assistance. Kitty
Hello and welcome to HCM, Uterine leiomyoma is benign tumor of smooth muscles of uterus. It is asymptomatic in many cases and it presents with pain and menstrual irregularities. Nabothian cyst is a mucus containing cyst in cervix. Nabothian cyst is a common finding in chronic cervicitis and is seen in many healthy menstruating females. Nabothian cyst does not require any treatment. if the uterine leiomyoma is symptomatic, it needs to be removed surgically. However, if the leiomyoma is asymptomatic, no treatment needs to be done.
