What Do Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Upper Arm Indicate?

I have upper right arm tingling and numbness which dissipates if I move my arm around to make it stop, but comes right back. I had a chiropractor look at it and had an adjustment, but that hasn t helped the condition. What is causing this? I don t have pain other than the numbness, tingling that make it hard to move my arm and function.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This type of sensation is due to nerve compression at you neck level (in between cervical vertebrae) because of disc herniation or age related decrease in vertebral space.

Go for MRI scan of your neck region. Then, consult the neurosurgeon. He will advise you according to the findings of MRI, whether physiotherapy and rest are sufficient or surgery is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
