What Do These AST And ALT Values Indicate?

I am 60yr old male and my AST & ALT jumped to 161 U/L & 74 U/L as of Sept 13th 2016 . Last taken 12/07/2015 at that time reads were AST 20 U/L & ALT 25 U/L . Started taking 1/2 of 1mg tablet 2 times week of Anastrozole march 2016 . Could this small amount run my AST & ALT numbers up that much . Taking to bring down estradiol levels down below 35pg/ml

Hi ! I have gone through your question and i understand your concern .

I would say that your liver enzyme level ALT and AST are high .These means that your liver cells are damaged , something is damage your liver .

Amastrazole is an aromataze inhibitor drug that had good effect to low estradiol level .
Is the first choice we have to low estradiol level in your age .

And yes this drug may cause your liver enzymes increase even in this dosage.The thing I would recommend to do is to monitor your liver test every 3 month .Only your treating doctor has the right to do any changes , cause your primary dissease is very important to be under controll beside the side effect of this medication.

He aware of these side effect : chest pain ( this drug increase level of cholesterol ), slow or fast heart beat , dizziness , headache ,, swelling of the feet or lower legs any bone injury ( cause of low estradiol level)
shortness of breath. Call the hospital if you have one of these.
