What Do The Ultrasound Results Indicate Regarding The Pregnancy Conditions?
hi. My wife is 28 weeks into pregnancy. Ultrasound done showed decreased size of the chest with relative increase in the heart rate. Repeat scan by an experience radiologist was done, the radiologist could not record a fetal breathing moment for after about 30 minutes of scanning. The fetus thigh bone is on the lower side of normal range. the fetal movements observed are good, weight is about 1400grams. can this be a normal finding.

1.It seems like IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction) differentiation in the parameters with increase cardiac activity.
2.Normally fetal breathing moments starts at 28weeks gestation may be little early. You should not worry.
3.Only thing wondering is movement are fine, in this case i would recommend my patient to get a repeat scan in 2 week time for followup.
4.I would recommend you to have repeat scan after a week with fetal doppler interrogation to evaluate IUGR.
5.No the above findings are not absolute normal findings - needs attention get a followup with old reports in 2 weeks time, you keep feeling the fetal movements any thing abnormal approach for medical help.
