Is this a normal amount of time, because I ve always thought from the time you eat something until it come out t other end is normal 24 to 48 hrs. As for the labs here were the dates and results 4/25/11 @9:42 Egfr 98, under serum creat .7mg/dL, bun 8,tsh 3.61im on snthyroid 10mg daily, under urine --creat 25.0mg/dL,MALB 0.6, under blood--wbc 7.6 #x1000/uL,rbc 4.99 million/uL, HGB 15.1 and under comments states Large and Giant platelets noted? Hi,

Smart Pill is a disposable capsule that you swallowed. It travels through your GI tract and transmits data about your GI tract to the recorder. It measures the amount of time it takes to move food through specific regions of the GI tract and the overall time to move food through the entire GI tract. It normally passes out in day 3 to 5 with a regular bowel movement, but may take longer depending on the motility.

Your gastroenterologist will discuss the results with you. No need to worry as your other tests are normal. Large and giant platelets indicate platelets that are abnormally large. These may be seen in certain disorders such as immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) or can be simply regenerating platelets after an acute illness. Take care!

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vandana Khare
