What Do Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Groin Area Indicate?

I ve recently had surgery to remove varicose veins on my right leg the calf area the surgery was excellent except my Doppler test result shows that I have a swollen lymph node in my right groin.my leg was swollen prior to surgery. Could this be the reason for the swollen lymph node?thanks JT.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Swelling of the lymph-nodes of the right groins indicate that you are having infection of the right lower limb. You had surgery for varicose veins. It is possible that you are having infected varicose ulcers of the medial aspect of the ankle area, and this could cause bacteria to infect the lymph-nodes of the right groins. Another reason of the right groin lymph node enlargement could be any post surgery infection of the surgical site. The doctor would have given you antibiotics. With these and proper dressing and rest to the right lower limb, the infection would subside and the lymph nodes resolve to normal.
