What Do Swelling And Inflammation In The Uvula Indicate?
My uvula is very swollen with a red almost jelly like appearance and white streaks on it. My throat is very sore, as is my neck. I have had a cold and do have a very mild cough. I did have a temp but don’t have one now. Is this likely to be viral or bacterial?

Presence of white streaks along with redness and pain is suggestive of strep throat which is a bacterial infection. Throat swab culture can confirm the diagnosis. Treatment with antibiotics is necessary. So please be advised to follow up with the urgent care. You can Tylenol for pain and fever. Warm saline water gargle can also help reduce pain.
