General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

There are several causes of the rash on the palms. The most common one being the local reaction to some ingredients (contact dermatitis). There are also other causes that might be more rare but need to be considered if treatment for contact dermatitis is not working.

1. Steroid cream (betametasone) for contact dermatitis (a common cause of rash on palms) needs to be used twice a day and not necessarily stay on your palm all day. If contact dermatitis is suspected than we can try stronger steroids like clobetasol.
2. try to make sure if there is a specific relation of the rash to any chemical or agent that might be causing it and if you identify one try to avoid it.
3. you can wear gloves to avoid contact with irritants when you need to use them
4. contact dermatitis is not the only cause of rash on the palms. If the clobetasol cream does not help after you use it twice a day for 1-2 weeks than i would say you will need some tests be done like tests for the liver (ALT, AST, Bilirubine), CBC, Siphilis test (VDRL), ERS, Creatinine, so you can have a general check and make sure you are healthy.
5. In all cases you will need a visit with a doctor to do a general examination and make sure no abnormal findings are present. The doctor might order further tests as needed also.

Hope this is helpful to you and answers to your question

Best regards
