What Do Rashes On The Neck After A Stomach Infection Indicate?

I had a stomach virus over the weekend and develop a rash on my neck and lower torso. The rash looks like uriticaria but I have taken or used anything different. Is the rash normal after a stomach virus? I have taken an antihistamine and it s not as inflamed. Overall I m better but still can t eat much; however, I have tried to keep hydrated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

It might happen to develop rashes after or when you have a stomach virus. However, we should rule out any possible allergy for any meds you might have been using this time.

It will take a few more days to disappear.
Apply calamine lotion to the rash area.

Continue taking antihistamine.
It it will get worse, consult further with your physician.

All the best.
