What do pus cells in urine indicate?

Hi.Iam a married male of 30 having no children.I had my urine tested one month ago where the report hd shown pus cells 6-8hpf then I took an antibiotics named megadox for 7days.AFter that in the medical check up v the report had shown 1-2hpf pus cells in my urine.Dr says that it should be 0 hpf.I ve a plan to have a child since I got married 3 yrs ago but not able to have til this movent. In this case should I take medicine to overcome pus cells?is the rate of my pus cells a barrier in pregnancy process?

Hello.

Pus cells in the urine are nothing but shed cells which fight against organisms. If they are more than a certain number, it indicates infection.

However, I would not be worried about 1-2 pus cells per hpf. Many times, this is normal and does not necessarily indicate infection. If it is more than 6-8/hpf, we need to be worried about a urine infection.

However, now you can safely go ahead with a pregnancy.
