48 yr female pt with 2mnths amennorhoea usg examination says tht uterus is high lying elongated enlarged 123×40×26.no focal lesions. endometrial thickness 5mm.fluid in lower endometrial cavity.ovaries not visualised ?? atrophic...what does it mean ?? diagnosis?? if ovaries are atrohied thn last 2 mnths back she got period why so ??

welcome to hcm ..as per age and ultrasound features ovaries uterus has entered menopausal phase ..now please see the meopause or atrophy is a slow process ..it means the menstrual bleed becomes irregular or goes to decreasung and then it abruptly stops for a particular month ..next method to diagnose menopause is blood testing of FSH ...LH ..
