What Do Pink Spots On The Chest Indicate?

Hello, I have a question for you on my chest I have these spots that are a light pink color, I told my regular doc about it and he gave me a pill n they went away a few months later they came back, but their was a lot more and since then I didn t get another pill cuz my insurance company would only give me one once a year.. And right now they are on the upper part of my chest down to my stomach and noticed some starting to show up on the inner part of my elbow. They range anywhere from a light pink, to a white to a red and when I get warm it feels like needles poking me in my chest from them... What do you think it is?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This small red spots may be petechiae. They are formed by bleeding underneath the skin. They can be formed while on blood thinning medications.

Taking blood thinning medications can cause bleeding phenomena like petechiae or bruising with minor trauma.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
