Hi there Connie,

This sounds like a normal MRI. I'll break it down for you
- no acute infarct means that there isn't any evidence of any dead tissue (like from a recent stroke)
- No Demyelination - sometimes in autoimmune disorders like MS you can get damage to the nerves in the brain which causes the myelin which wraps the nerve sheaths to be damaged. This isn't the case her
- No edema - edema means swelling
- Mass - self explanatory - no masse.
- Soiltary punctate hyperintense foci in the right front lobe white matter region- there's a very small dot they see on the MRI in the right frontal lobe that is lighting up. They explain that this could be due to chronic migraines or from a tiny area that isn't getting blood flow - microvascular insult. It sounds extremely small, and I wouldn't worry about this. This is likely from normal aging.
- Minimal postinflammatory mucosal thickening - if you've ever had sinus infections, this is what this means.
- Pineal gland cyst - the pineal gland is found near the brain, and you have a small cyst there. Nothing to worry about.

Connie, overall this is a fairly normal MRI without any findings other than sinusitis. Nothing significant to worry about here.

I hope I have answered your questions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or if you feel I haven't addressed your question adequately.
