What Do Painful Sores On The Scalp Indicate?

I have painful sores on my scalp. They start out as hard bumps that get bigger and are filled with a clear liquid, sometimes with a tinge of pink. They weep and are very sensitive to the touch. I have over 40 of these. In the past week, I have enlarged lymph nodes that are painful to touch and raging headaches. I was proveded with desoximetasone.05 gel; however it isn t working. I was then provided with sulfamethoxazole-Tmp DS TAB. I don t feel any better and neither the bumps nor the swollen lymph nodes are better, plus the headaches are more painful, more frequent and last longer. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern.

As per your history it seems multiple furancles, and the swollen lymph nodes are also because of the same reason.

This can be because of high blood sugar, you need to visit a doctor and also get a fasting blood sugar level done. If it is associated with fever and generalized body aches it may be a viral infection too.

You may need a course of antibiotics like Amoxycilin after consulting your physician.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further queries.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
