What do painful sores inside the upper lip indicate?

I have painful sores inside my upper lip, in both hemispheres, that have intermittent pain, in waves. They don t appear like coldsores. There is a layer of mucousa missing, with tiny, white, bubble like sores within the missing area. Very sensitive to heat, cold, salt, spices. This is day 12, and pain is lessening, but still very tender. Any ideas what it is, what could be causing it, and how I could prevent further outbreaks?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your complaints and these could be canker sores. I would recommend you to apply triamcinolone acetonide oral paste on the affected areas thrice daily and take multivitamin tablet for few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I have a small enlargement on the inside of my upper lip....not a canker sore, but a 3/4 wide, mildly raised semi-red node that feels slightly uncomfortable but not painful. Could be a herpes virus breakout but it is less severe and is like a small bump. Any idea of what this might be?

I have a lump on inside of my upper lip even with my top teeth up into cheek in looked inside my mouth where it is and do not see anything no sores, no redness, but you can see slight swelling from outside. It s been there for months sometimes its large and noticable other times not so much but it does not go away. If you grab the lump from inside and outside you can feel it roll between your fingers. Its hard and not painful only if i sqeeze at it does it hurt. It is about pea size. I am not sure if it is a cyst, tumor, or trauma from my dentures since I sleep in them.

I got some sores on my right side of upper lip, sores are small but one looks like filled with pus kind, these are not burning sensation type, no pain or very very less pain is there, these developed in just last three days, after i came from my dental doctor but don t know, if this is related with any UN-hygienic or touched with some instrument that was not sterilized.
