What Do Painful Small Bumps On Hard Palate Indicate?

I have two small bumps on each side of my hard palate that are painful and even more painful when palpated. They feel solid and are non-mobile (feels like bone). My teeth are in excellent condition, I don t think it is a dental abscess. I do have nasal congestion and pressure and mild pain behind my right eye. I believe I have a sinus infection, but can this cause the painful bumps on my hard palate? they appeared two days ago along with the pain. I recently quit smoking and have a 10 pack year history. 30 year old white male. I do suffer from allergies and have asthma.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that solid bony hard lumps on hard palate can be due to formation of Palatine Tori that are nodule like overgrowth of palatal bone..
Pain can be due to irrtation of overlying mucosa caused by eating hard foods or other forms of trauma..

Sinus infection is not the reason for causing bony torus..

I would still advise you to get a clinical examination done by consulting an Oral Physician and he can advise you appropriate treatment accordingly..

In case of bony tori, surgical removal of the overgrown bone is the only option..
As of now you can apply numbing gel over the area to relieve pain and also take a soft diet..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
