What Do Pain And Swelling On The Outer Ears Indicate?

Is it possible to get herpes simplex on the outer ear (it formed on the antihelix of the outer ear). It appeared at the same time as a cold sore on the lip immediately following a few days of a fever. The blisters looked the same initially but the one on the ear was bigger, more painful and caused mild redness and swelling. By day 3 it had stopped spreading and the blisters are starting to crust over, redness is subsiding as is the swelling. Just curious what it could be. There isn t any definitive information online about cold sores in the ear so I am curious as to what it could be.

Hello sir,
You are absolutely right.
I am of the opinion that it's herpes zoster and yes it presents as cold sores most common being on lip border less on external ear. Acyclovir is needed to treat this.
