What Do Pain And Swelling In The Wrist Indicate?

Hi, my name is Rajesh, I have pain, swelling and ristriction in motion on wrist joint from around last 4 months. At start the pain used to be there for 2-3 days between every week or two but after that it used to be fine. But now it is constant. After visiting the doctor I was advised to wear wrist splint and have QDMRD-200 for 2 months. It was better but i still had suddden pain 2-3 times between those 2 months. i had serious pain again, after MRI got to know that it is a synovitis and there is fluid near the joint. According to prescription i have to wear the wrist splint for another month, dip the hand into warm salt water and then apply the pain relief gel. And also need to have 2 medicines prescribed [1of them was pain killer and other was synertab tablets]. I was still not happy with the improvement, so i consulted another senior doc and they proscribed me to do a biopsy. An open biopsy was performed. And the result says a non specific synovitis again. After this big cut on my hand for biopsy, i still dont know what problem i have. Please help. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The possibility is carpel tunnel syndrome. Do you have any numbness in your palm. Carpel tunnnel syndrome is nothing but compression of nerves at the wrist. Consult an orthopedic and get evaluated. You might require minor surgical procedure to correct the problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
