What Do Pain And Numbness In The Arm Indicate?

Last evening my 6yr old hit his arm during a sideways fall while playing. He has been complaining of pain and numbness in his arm, which subsides on massaging his arm. There is no swelling or color change and he feels better on moving his arm. Pls suggest if I need yo see his Doctor.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pain and numbness can occur as a result of trauma, the numbness is related to minor trauma to the nerves in the area.
This should be temporary

It is possible that the symptoms may worsen. This normally occurs by day 2 after trauma then improvement would be expected.

Pain medication can be used as needed

He should not need to see a doctor unless the pain and additional symptoms are severe.

I hope this helps
