What do numbness and tingling sensation in the left arm indicate?

HI. I am 42 years old. Have been having odd symptoms while working in my kitchen. Seems to happen after washing dishes and putting them up in the upper cabinets. Also occurs some when emptying the dishwasher into upper cabinets. Left arm starts tingling, numbness goes into head and makes me dizzy then goes into right arm. On a couple occations vision goes to a tunnel vision, and if i don t sit down or lay down I black out. These symptoms only occur when working in the kitchen above my head. After these episodes I feel like I have run a race and are exhausted. No palpatations felt or arrythmias. (have had them in the past.) Tilt table test negative, MRI of the brain negative. Any ideas of what to do next?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

By your history and description, we should definitely rule out nerve root compression at cervical spine level should be rule out. Your symptoms are specifically seen when you raise your left arm above shoulder. This movement and position can cause compression at cervical spine level and gives all your symptoms. So get done MRI of cervical spine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
