What Do Mild Disc Protrusion With Reversal Of Normal Lordosis Shown In MRI Mean?

I am a 32 year old woman that has been experiencing pain in my arm, shoulder and neck, I went for an MRI and I wanted to know what the results mean. My doctor did refer me to surgeon, waiting on getting with them and scheduling something. Reversal of the normal lordosis noted C3-C4 shows mild disc protrusion. C4-C5 shows mild disc protrusion. C5-C6 is a small central disc protrusion. C6-C7 shows a right paracentral disc protrusion or herniation abuts the anterior lateral portal the right with minimal deflection and right foraminal stenosis.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The MRI report shows abnormality in the cervical spine or the spine in the neck region.
There are degenerative changes in the cervical discs starting from C3 vertebra to C7 vertebra.
The inter-vertebral discs show between these vertebra show protrusion.
Protrusion of discs from their normal position can lead to compression of spinal nerves which lie in the vicinity of the vertebra.
Compression of the nerves causes pain in the region where the nerve supplies.
There is evidence of narrowing or stenosis of foramina.
Foramina are canals through which the nerves emanate from spinal cord.
You need to consult your referring doctor for clinical assessment and management of the condition.
At this stage, conservative measures need to be followed.
Conservative measures includes rest and pain killer.
Rest often replaces the protruded discs.

Thanks and take care
