What Do Lesions On The Sides Of The Tongue Indicate?

I ve been experiencing lesions on the sides of my tongue ever since my radiation treatment for squamous cell carinoma of the soft palate. I am 4 years out from my treatments, but its getting worse. Is there something I can do to have these diminish in size or stop occuring?
