What Do Itchy Red Rashes On The Back Indicate?

Doctor, Iv'e noticed these itchy, red pimples or welts on my back, intitially I thought they were insect bites, I'm using a cold compress and cortizone to cool the pain, is it chicken pocks, measles, the mumps? should I check with my Doctor? Maria

I am sorry for the health problems you are experiencing. From your description, they seem like an allergic reaction to me. However, we shouldn't exclude skin infection too.





I highly recommend you to consult with a dermatologist as soon as possible, to determine the right diagnosis.


For the moment, I advise to continue applying cold compresses together with taking antihistamine orally.

It may be truncal acne on the back. Sometimes patient gets itchy sensation on these lesions also. However, you consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. After thorough examination and investigations you may be treated with perfect medications.
