What do itchy blisters on the body indicate?

My 16 year son keeps breaking out with a blister-like area about the size of a dime. The area dries and become red and itchy and then layers of skin peel off and then the area clears completely, only to break out in a different area. He s had them all over his body - chest, neck, leg etc. They last several weeks most times.

Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.
I understand your concern.
It looks like shingles.
Some advice that I can give to you is:
-Apply cornstarch or baking soda to help dry the sores so that they heal more quickly.
-Soak crusted sores with tap water solution to help clean away crusts, decrease oozing, and dry and soothe the skin.
-use topical creams to help relieve the inflammation caused by shingles.
Hope it helps,
kind regards!
