What Do Itchy And Swollen Rashes On The Hands Indicate?

I have rash on hands that burn, itch, and swell. Prednizone masked the symptoms for awhile but, now it is back. Sometimes, there are large welts on face neck and arms. In addition, I have a pain in my back ,inside right shoulder blade going up into my head, sometimes causing headaches. I don t think I could be allergic to anything as I have not eaten anything different or used any product that is different. I think it is nerve related and not dermatological. My internist is baffled! Help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello
there can be lot of conditions associated with skin rash and joint pain. In my opinion you should consult rheumatologist in your area as they are best trained to deal with such conditions. rheumatologist will able to perform detailed clinical examination to come to narrowed list of provisional disgnosis and then carry out needed investigations to confirm diagnosis.
hope this answers helped you.
wish you good health.
