What Do Hard Bumps On The Scalp Of A 69-year-old Female Indicate?

Hello. My sister is 69 years old and recently found three hard bumps on her scalp. They are not round, one is raised oblong and the other a little higher. Two on her forehead and one at the base of her hair line on the back of her head. The doctor has ordered an xray and then MRI. I know you can t tell me what they are without an exam. What is your best guess as to what they could be? I appreciate you taking the time to suggest what these could be.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, though these can be benign growths like lipomas however any other underlying subcutaneous cystic growths may present like this.

Lymph nodes enlargement seems less likely due to the location you mentioned.

In any case, ultrasound or MRI of the growth may be done and if solid then biopsy must be taken to rule out any signs of neoplastic cells suspicion etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
