What Do Freckles And Moles On The Legs Indicate?

Hi, a couple of years ago, I consulted with a dermatologist and ended up seeing her nurse practitioner. The NP proceeded to look at the numerous freckles and moles on my legs..and zapped one of my moles with what appeared to be a mini blow torch/laser. I have no history of melanoma, and nothing positive resulted from my tests at the time. Meanwhile, the area where she zapped on my right thigh (front) is the size of a pencil eraser head. It is red, and has never healed. I have tried all kinds of topical ointments. It s stays red, and won t heal . I have no other symptoms. It has not grown in size. What can I do to induce healing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have evaluated your query in details. Chronic non healing ulcer issue may require biopsy to find cause of non healing and later skin grafting is last resort once confirmed by consultant surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
