What Do Cloudy Spots On Leg In X Ray Result Indicate?

Good Day, today my husband has an X-ray on his right leg because he has been experiencing some severe leg pain. The xay showed two cloudy spots on his leg. One spot was on his thigh and the other spot was on his lower leg. We know that he needs a total knee replacement . But the two spots are new finding as of today. Can you help me with this concern? I would really appreciate your insight on the matter. Thank You.

Hello, thanks for writing in.
I have read your query, where you have mentioned two new spots on the xray, which I assume are on the bone, and not the soft tissue.
In order to diagnose a bone lesion on Xray, it is important to know the shape, margins, exact location , whether it is white/black etc.
There are a list of possibilities including benign & malignant bone tumors, metastases, infarcts, and other tumor mimics to be considered.
Also, if the reason for the knee replacement is degeneration in the joint, the spots maybe related to the same process.

In the absence of imaging details, I would recommend you consult a doctor who can read the xray as well as provide pain medication for your husband.
Hope this is helpful. Do write in again with any doubts.
Take care.
