What Do Bruises On The Arm Indicate?

I have what looks like a blood bruise. after I hit my arm. I wasn t that hard and it does not hurt. but a big deep red bruise. I just noticed it this year. and I am doing a little project and I am bumping or scraping my arms and getting these deep red bruises. When I was younger I never bruised.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is probably nothing. Rarely, if you bruise very easily and are otherwise healthy, it can indicate a blood condition involving platelets, coagulation factors, etc. I suggest you see a doctor, just to rule that out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen
