What Do Black Dots In Vision Indicate?

For the past 24 hours, I have been experiencing periodic black dots and squiggly lines in my right vision, as if dust or debris is trapped and floating around. I know what floaters are and have never had the experience reported. I am a 66 year old male with HBP managed by medication. I wear prescription eyewear for driving and computer use. My right ear aches slightly and seems to be ringing more than usual; my right eye ball is a bit achy; stuffness in my right nostril; and I experience a periodic ache in my right temple. I am planning to see a specialist, but would like to know for what could I be seen and are the above symptoms valid?

Hello there,
Just by the description given above it sure sounds loke floaters. These tiny web/dot/mosquito/hair like images seen in black which moves with your direction of gaze and are visible on exposure to light or on bright backgrounds. If this is what your experiencing its floaters and your other symptoms might be of cold which could be coincidental. However its always better to get your retina examined.

Hope this helped.

Thankyou.
