Hi, unfortunately I was blessed with a septate hymen. I ve noticed it when I started using tampons a few years ago and it would get stuck after it expanded. I didn t question it, I thought it was normal at first. Until recently, I tried to have sexual intercourse with my boyfriend a couple times, and it was very painful and he could not get it in. He says we should just let it break during sexual intercourse, but I m scared due to risk of infection of it tearing. I know surgery is optional, but I don t know which I should go with.
