Am on zytiga and xgiva for metastasized bone cancer following prostate. have been on it for a year. Have noticed increasing fatigue (to be expected on these drugs), dizziness and lightheadedness. Have passed out twice. On going to emergency yesterday was checked to make sure no heart attack, told them drugs I was on, and was given SDZ Bisoprolol to lower blood pressure and regulate heart. They diagnosed me with atrial fibrillation. I am already on Coversyl for bp. Take blood pressure regularly, it vacillates from 147/96 to 118/73 in a matter of minutes. pulse very rapid with mixed beats. my question is, will taking bisoprolol make my dizziness and fainting increase?
any conditions or hormones besides hgh and acromegaly that can cause the bones in the face (including cheekbones) to enlarge? I am 24 and my face continues to widen and cheek bones continue to grow. It has become abnormally large. My jawbones have widened in accordance. It is obvious something is amiss and that this is not due to natural bone growth. This all started with a facial bloating and puffiness episode a few years back. It was caused by some sort of fluid but even when it subsided, it seemed to have triggered the increased bone growth. I plan on seeing an endocrinologist , what kind of tests should i request?
I had a bone marrow biopsy done and I would like to know some information regarding the Aspirate Smear, here is what it said. Quality: Adequate, Cellularity: Cellular, Myeloid lineage: Synchronous and progressive, Erythroid lineage: Synchronous and progressive, Megakaryocytes: Occasional. Normal morphology. Is it normal to have Megakaryocytes in a bone marrow aspirate? Here was the differential: Blasts 0%, Promyelocytes 2%, Myelocyte/Meta 38%, Neutrophil 15%, Eosinophils 2%, Erythroid 27%, Lymphocytes 14%, Plasma cells 2%. M:E ratio 3:1, what does that mean and is it normal? Is it normal to have Promyelocytes and are all the percentages within normal ranges? Core Biopsy: Quality: Suboptimal (short core biopsy). Bone/soft tissue: Normal, Cellularity: Unable to determine but specimen is approximately 40%. Myeloid lineage: Progressive. Erythroid lineage: Progressive. Megakaryocytes: Occasional megakaryocytes with normal morphology. Others: No increase blasts or lymphoid aggregates. What does approximately 40% mean on Cellularity? Also had Special Stains: Aspirate smear Iron stain: No Histiocytic and sideroblastic iron (0/4). Core biopsy, Iron: No stainable iron. I was having Phelbotomies prior to this bone marrow test because I was given too much iron supplement, and my iron became depleted so it seems. My ferritin level at the time of the bone marrow biopsy was only 7. So is it normal to have Megakaryocytes in bone marrow aspirate, I megakaryocytes should only be in the bone marrow, not the aspirate, can you clarify this for me. And are Promyelocytes normal in the aspirate? Is the ratio normal 3:1? And is Cellularity 40%, is that normal? Would greatly appreciate your expertise opinion, thank you.

Taking a PPI for a couple years now on a daily basis due to non erosive gastritis. Recent dexa scan shows 5.4% decrease in the values within the lumbar spine and 9.7% decrease in the values within the total left hip. These are significant. Previous dexa scan was 2 years prior and normal. Could it be from taking PPI? Is there a way I can get off the PPI, re: an alkaline diet? Concerned about the bone loss... Mom had osteoporosis.
I recently had an ECG after an abnormal EKG. The ECG showed vent. rate 108bpm Sinus tachycardia, PR interval 158 ms, possible left atrial enlargement, QRS duration 88 ms , nonspecific ST abnormality, QT/QTc 368/493 ms, abnormal ECG, P-R-T axes 70 48 58 and prolonged QT. The cardiologist didn t seem very concerned and felt the abnormality was because of the medication I was taking - remeron for sleeping; I suffer from chronic insomnia. I have been on this medication for over two years and have never had any side effects or problems with it. In the past three-four months, however, I have been experiencing chest pains, some severe which is why I went to my physician to get the first EKG which showed a fast heart beat and was referred to the cardiologist for an ECG, EKG and a stress test. I was only on the treadmill for maybe 4 1/3 minutes before I experienced SOB and chest pains. They repeated the ECG and I was told it was abnormal and to discuss my medications with my psychiatrist and that I had nothing to worry about. When I see abnormal ECG, EKG and am taking nitro tablets with a family history of heart disease (father COPD, CHF and angioplasty; grandfather died of a heart attack), I have a tendency not to believe the doctor. I have not even been contacted by my physician for a follow-up visit. Should I be concerned. Cancer also runs in my family; my father died of colon, liver CA and I am breast cancer survivor. I d appreciate your comments. Should I seek another opinion? Thanks, Mary Kopco YYYY@YYYY I am a 61 y.o. white female, 137 lbs w/ hx of cancer (bilateral mastectomy and hysterectomy for CA of uterus), osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, high cholesterol (328), allergic to any statin drugs, being treated with Zetia 10 mg 1 x/day. Hello, I am from Canada and suffer chronic pain and fibromyalgia for 25 years. I am on methadone as one treatment and it has been recently altered here. Methadose solution for pain 10mg/ml Methadone HCI 10 mg/ml. Dose, drink 1.5ml four times daily. I can not take this as I said it has been changed. Now the government has made it sugar based cherry flavored, gag reflux crap. I have tried to wean my self off but have experienced anger, smashing plates, cried out for doctor assisted suicide as the pain and withdrawal of this drug is making me crazy. I am on subcutaneous lidocaine infusions weekly, nerve blocks in neck and shoulders, cortisone injections in both hips for bursitis and nerve blocks in lower back, L4,L5. I suffer with herniated, degenerative discs, c5,c6 too. I have osteoporosis, parathesia, IBS, awaiting surgery for bladder prolapse, endometriosis which required hysterectomy and oophorectomy and numerous laporoscopies leaving me with adhesions which are a constant cause of further pain. I am a chronic pain disease sufferer and to the world I look great...haha! I initially started to write to you only for advise on taking myself off methadone but here I went on and on. The list is long and I see many doctors and pain specialists however my quality of life is nil and I am only 55 years young. I can not seem to find answers, help or hope other than being prescribed opiates, methadone which has been changed to suit the government not the patients needs and numerous medications that make me worse. I am on a roller coaster of hell and pain and now I am withdrawing off this horrible new recipe of methadone as I throw up trying to take it. Why change something that was easy to take to this horrible sugar based cherry cough medicine taste that burns to the pit of my stomach whereby I need gravol settle? I am frustrated, in pain and have talked to nurse on line tonight...she told me to go to the hospital...LOL! Right! I can not live in this pain...my doctor retired, great guy...now I have a woman who has nine kids and never can catch up or give a you know what about her patients. I give up! This is only the tip of the ice berg...you have now idea many health issues I have! I have to leave my city to go for help to Vancouver, thank God for HOPE AIR! They took me to the last appointment with my Neurosurgeon and he has ordered another MRI, will be seeing me after or before if I can not take the pain! I am a mess...What happened to good doctors??? How did we get FIBROMYALGIA??? I have a clue...DDT spraying all over the playground I grew up in...playground was a gas line and electric power field...what do you think of that? Five out of six women who played there as children were not able to conceive!!! Gee, I wonder! I am on a quest to find answers and thought perhaps I would start here...I doubt I will get an answer though...Great! Off to cyber space this goes...I am from Canada and You are in the States! Nice! I was on a Canadian site...how all of a sudden does it go here and now I need to pay! Well, thanks for nothing....I will proceed elsewhere because I will find an answer and from you...obviously not!
