What Diet Is Advisable For An Infant With Low Weight?

Hi doctor, My son is 6 months old( weighs 6.5 kg) i started giving him cerelac in the morning and evng, ragi mix in the afternoon. I am a working women so I feed him only in the night. I think my baby is under weight according to his age. In order to put on his weight what all foods should i introduce him? Need a suggestion among cerelac, nestum rice and easum which one do you prefer to feed the little one and please do specify the quantity. Thanking you in advance Priyanka

Dear Priyanka,

Each child has their own growth pattern and the weight your son is appropriate for his age. At 6 months of age, we recommend to take top-up feeds, which in your case is something you have daily at your home.

6 month old children can be fed mashed rice, mashed potatoes in addition to commercial products that you've mentioned in your question. All the three products should be equally good.
