What Can Be Done Post A Positive Test Screening For HCV In A 16-year-old?

my 16 yr old son gave blood and we received a letter stating that he had a positive test screening for HCv but that HCVNAT was negative and an additional serological test was also negative. What does this mean and should he be tested again and for what?

Hello,

I want to know which your earlier testing method was and which second serological test to give more comment are.

If hcv NAT negative and if your second serological test is also negative, then you have no chance of hcv. Sometime Elisa can give false results in initial screening method.

You can get tested with hcv Elisa test again for more confirmation but as NAT test negative as per history, so no chance of hcv, Provide all your reports for giving more comment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
