What Damage Does Head Trauma Cause?

Hello. I was in a fight last night and simply was slapped in the face. The slap was HARD and I immediately felt dizzy when I got hit across the face. My ear on the smae side of the face lost hearing for about fifteen minutes. I put an ice pack on and took some Ibuporfin. My head still hurts especially around the temple area. Could major damage have been done? Im in pain.

Hi there,
I am Dr. Deepak, I work in Emergency Department, where I see many of my patient who have head injury. As you have mentioned you were in the fight last night, in which you were slapped hard across the face, you felt dizzy and had lost hearing for about fifteen mins.
I feel you had minor injury to your head. You felt dizzy because your head was moved all of the sudden when you were not expecting. Your hearing was lost for fifteen mins, as I think you were slapped closed to your ear or on your ear, then it will happen. Good thing is! you no need to worry about these problem as I suppose you would have recovered from it by now. If you are still having trouble with it, then I would recommend you to see a doctor.
You also mentioned about the pain over the temporal region, It might take some time to go down completely. You can apply some ice pack and take some pain killer along with it for some days (say 3-4 days).
You are worried if you had any serious injury to your head. I feel you don't have serious injury, as you didn't loose consciousness, you didn't have any vomiting, you are not feeling numbness or weakness over one side of your body now. You have not mentioned about any problem with walking, I thing you are not having any problem with the walking.
Thank you
Hope your concern was dealt with and hope you have a speedy recovery
