What Course Of Treatment Should Be Done For A Deviated Septum Of The Nose?

I’ve a deviated septum of my nose, the doctor said surgery is not needed until I face any sort of problem like air obstruction through nose. Well, should I opt for it now as I m 18 and young, or leave it until any problem comes, because maybe in old age it’ll be difficult to do a surgery. Also, are any complications there???? Will my nose be forever weak??

Hi..

Well if there is no problem then surgery can be avoided but at times Surgery can also be done to improve appearance or aesthetics..

If there are symptoms like nasal obstruction, sinus problems etc then surgery is a must..

Certain complications are always present with surgical procedures and those associated with surgery of straightening nasal septum are recurrence of septal deviation, sinus issues unresolved, bleeding etc..

But it is not necessary that everyone faces complications..

Hope I have answered your query.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
