My wound on my finger (as wide as a pea) is smelling like vinegar. I had tripped a few days ago and scraped it on the concrete, the rather thick piece of skin had almost come off but was still dangling on and it has almost closed up again but the colour is a purplish, reddish? Should I take the skin off to let a new layer to heal, and what is the vinegar smell?
It seems like you had a nasty skin abrasion on concrete surface which could have caused skin to become necrotic ( purplish colour) - The dead skin often is a ground for developing infection. I suggest you need to see Dr / nurse - to get antibiotics in case of infection & also will need to get the dead part of skin removed allowing fresh skin to start healing up. Thanks
