What Could Numbness In Leg With Tear In Disc & Spinal Stenosis Suggest?

I have had tingling, numbness in my right leg for 4 months, normal EMG, not any significant results on MRI, slight tear in a disc and some spinal stenosis on L4 and L5 vertebrae. Haven t had a test for diabetes, they did a blood test last Oct, normal range, is there any chance I could become diabetic this fast and not know it? no significant thirst or other symptoms, but my feet are very uncomfortable in any shoes since this problem began in jan.

Hi

Tingling and numbness in your leg would not be related to diabetes in your case. Because to cause diabetic neuropathy either diabetes should be long standing or very high uncontrolled blood sugar levels if diabetes is short term. Both scenario not appropriate in your case.

what i would suggest you to do is get MRI is spine to rule out nerve trunk compression of your le(4-5 stenosis). This would be the likely cause if tingling and numbness in leg. Once the diagnosis is confirmed do get appropriate treatment.

Let me know for any additional information.
