What Could Lightheadedness With Resting Heart Rate Of 112 Suggest?
Hello, I have a resting heart rate of 112- when I excercise it literally only takes my heart rate to speed of to 160 or higher in minutes. I have been eating lots of green lately, and have been trying to work out- but get light headed very easy. I am a 29 year old female.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I would explain that your symptoms could be related to a metabolic disorder (chronic anemia, thyroid gland dysfunction, electrolyte imbalance, etc..) .
Coming to this point, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:
-a resting ECG and a cardiac ultrasound - complete blood count - blood electrolytes - thyroid hormone levels.
An ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring may be needed to investigate for possible cardiac arrhythmia, especially if all the above tests result normal.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Heart rate above 100 is normal and has to be evaluated.
Check you thyroid status as hyperthyroidism can cause elevated heart rates.
Consult a cardiologist and he will direct you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
