What Could Itching And Swelling On Only One Side Of Face Indicate?

The other day I was outside I felt a funny feeling in my lip but only on one side of my face. It became itchy and swollen like a hive. It continue I took some benegryll. Today the same thing is happening but now on the other side of my face. Can you tell me what this is.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

As you describe your situation that you have itching and swelling on one side of the face .The most probable cause of these symptoms is allergic reaction to some food(peanuts and sea foods) or medicine (as you also mention) .

So you should immediately stop taking that food or medication that causes allergy .keep damp cloth on affected side of your face for 10-15 mins.

If doesn't go away or worsen immediately consult doctor ,because in some cases it leads to swelling of throat tissues and obstruct the airways. doctor can prescribe you antihistamines.
