What Could Fibrosis Atelectasis In A Chest Angiogram Report Indicate?

I recently went to the ER because my blood pressure was high and I had a fever. I also told them that I had to take deep breaths. They did a chest Xray which was fine and a CT Angio Chest With contrast. It was all good except it says there is atelectasis and /or fibrosis. If I had these things, why did they let me go home. They should have said something was wrong. I am a 62 year old woman. Thanks.

Hi
Atelectasis is nothing serious--just temporary collapse of some air sacs
Fibrosis would be more serious so you need to have a pulmonologist evalute this and you need spirometry--a breathing test
