What Could Elevate Cortisol And Lower IGF Levels, Have Hypertension And Diabetes?
i have an elevated cortisol level and a low igf-1 level. does this indicate pituitary problems or could it be my adrenal glands? i am having more tests run but i am worried about the pituitary. i have had type 2 diabetes for 5 or so years and high blood pressure much longer than that. i do not respond well to stress and two years ago i had an elevated lactic acid level.

I carefully read your report and I can understand your concern.
Diabetes and hypertension may be side effects of a high cortisol levels. You didn't mention the result of the cortisol, but I have to say that the cortisol is high in overweight persons and in these cases a test with dexamethasone is helpful to distinguish a tumor secreting cortisol from an elevated level due to obesity.
If the cortisol level is not lowered after the dexamethasone test than radiologic examinations should be recommended to try to find a tumor.
