What Could Cause Temporary Blindness?

This last week when I went into a restaurant I was blind......during dinner the blindness went away just felt like something was in my eye. Then when we went outside, again I was blinded, this time everything was white. It happened again and again. Then no symptoms the last few days. Do you know what it could be?
